Why does prayer go unanswered

He will answer the prayer of any sinner who prays for pardon in the name of Jesus Romans He will give Himself in His fullness to any believer who sincerely desires His fullness Luke He promises to cleanse all the sins of any child who comes to Him confessing his sins 1 John He will give wisdom and spiritual insight to those who acknowledge their lack and who sincerely desire such wisdom James Knowing that someone is praying for you can be very empowering, helping you feel cared for, embraced in love and that can make a huge difference.

Prayer has a way of motivating us to get involved. If you care enough to pray about something, you might also care enough to do what you can to make a situation better.

And when you take action that creates a space for God to act. Sometimes the answer to a prayer is you. God can work through your to care for someone. Maybe you bring them food or give them a call, to send a card and that helps lift their spirits and that positive energy makes a difference. You may be thinking it sounds a long way off from the ask, seek, knock, stuff I mentioned at the beginning. But we are given a great promise—the gift of the Spirit.

Jesus is saying that your prayers are always answered. God gives you God. It may not be the care, the cure, or the career you were asking for. Sometimes it is. The important thing that Jesus said is that when we come to God in prayer we encounter God.

What does that look like? Sometimes it looks exactly like what you had prayed for. Sometimes it is having a sense of peace and strength to get through something difficult. Prayer is powerful. Prayer changes things. Prayer can heal cancer, restore life, mend broken families, and is the means by which we get help when we most need it.

There are times, however, when the answer to prayer is simply not there. That is when we need to really understand the bewildering reality of unanswered prayer. There are a lot of diverse ways in which seemingly unanswered prayer is understood. Yet, frequently these shallow half-truths serve only to arbitrarily discount the unanswered prayer with unsympathetic ambivalence. He commanded that we are to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as ourself Mark Further, Jesus said we are to love our brethren as He has loved us.

Lack of love, bitterness, unforgiveness is the root of many unanswered prayers, since faith works by love Gal All acts of rebellion and disobedience to God is considered sin. The remedy for all sin is to confess it to God, forsake it, and ask Him to forgive you 1 John Improper Motives. Our motives in our prayer requests are of concern to the Lord. He wishes to help us in our time of need, but is not obligated to answer prayers which will merely feed our carnal, worldly appetites and lustful pleasures.

Our motives and desires can be corrected by humbling ourselves, and drawing near to God James And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Luke " Lord, teach us to pray
